Thanks for your interest the Kiap-TU-Wish video, A
Storm on the Horizon.
The purpose of the video is to educate others on the
effect of storm water on our lakes, streams and rivers. This
educational video discusses the issues surrounding urban development
and it’s impact to water quality. The story of the Kinnickinnic River
in western Wisconsin is shown and the prospects for the river’s long
term health is discussed. The video is a must see for anyone
interested in land use issues and the health of our water resources.
The video:
1. Establishes the value of a cold water resources and
why they are so important to the community.
2. Demonstrates the impact of storm water on various
surfaces and the impact of storm water on water resource.
3. Outlines what can be done to allow development to
occur with protection of the water resources in mind
The video was professionally produced by Kiap-TU-Wish
and Palisades Productions of Minneapolis. It is 14 minutes in length
and is geared towards educating a general public and land use
decision makers on the impacts of storm water on our water
resources.
As I believed was discussed at the State Council
meeting we are requesting a donation of at least $25
per copy to help cover the costs of reproduction and mailing. After
viewing the video you are willing to donate a larger sum towards the
production costs we would gratefully accept the donation! You can send
a check made out to Kiap-TU-Wish at the address below. We would also
welcome any comments on the video and it’s contents. We are currently
working on the educational materials (handouts and a CD ROM program)
that would be utilized along with the video to further explore the
issues and what can be done.
